Damballah on Dark Purple

This lightweight flag, with artist's name in black beads in the lower right corner (diagonally), shows the green snake representing Damballa, the spirit of sexuality and fatherhood, on a staff with the Haitian national flag. The crude star is meant to ward off evil in Haitian Vodou, while the white egg is the sacred food of this spirit who controls the flow of rivers. A jazzy purple background cloth proves that Valris is foremost a colorist of distinction.br> 12 ¼ X 11 ¾ Sequins and beads sewn on clothArtist: Georges Valris
